Climbing words explained
Trad - (Traditional climbing) A leader places protection in the rock as they climb, once at a belay they bring their second up and they remove the protection, leaving little to no trace.
Sport climbing - the leader clips pre placed bolts as they climb, once they reach the top they are lowered back down.
Single pitch - A climb that can be completed in a single rope length.
Multi pitch - A climb that requires more than one rope length and is split into separate pitches.
